Books and things....sneak peak.

I feel a bit overwhelmed at the minute, not only have I always wanted to be in a craft book that this year I get to be in TWO, I really don't know how that happened. Anyway this is just a wee bit of info about both just now. The first is The Busy Girls Guide to Sewing by the wonderful Carrie Maclennan features Carries journey through sewing different projects. So exciting.
The second is The State of Craft by Victoria Woodcock, this is sort of along the same lines as Carrie, great minds think a like with project based craft featuring the likes of Tatty Devine, Urban Cross Stitch and DIY Couture.
So just a wee bit for now.....more to come soon.

If you are in Aberdeen on Sunday night, there is only one place you should be at Kilau Coffee gazing and admiring the wonderful art work of my good friends Stu Ford and Stu Allan. It will be a treat for the eyes. I hear you may be able to get this poster design on a limited addition t-shirt, yes please! I will be saving my pennies. It's on till October so you have plenty of time to have a gander.
Here is all you need to know.....

Bonnie sea ship bonnets.
Thursday, 4 August 2011
Last year I was asked by the lovely Ruth of the former Bowery in Edinburgh to host craft workshops that accompanied her gigs. This time it was a nautical theme as I love anything to do with the sea I dived straight in. We made Marie Antoinette inspired ship bonnets such a simple idea that was so effective, black card, felt and elastic. Everyone really enjoyed it I think taking the pictures was the best bit although the image quality is not great, I will get a better camera one day. I may do a wee tutorial if anyone is interested.
Clever Fella.
I wanted to show you these testers for an animation title sequence by Cameron Duguid
they were never used but I think they are super pretty. Hope you are not out in the rain as it is lashing down outside.
